About the guide Michael Joram:
Michael’s experience as a safari guide began at a very young age. He accompanied his uncle - also a safari guide -
on several tours. It was therefore almost natural for Michael to follow in his footsteps. In 1995, he underwent
formal training as a guide. Michael is also an experienced and trained mechanic – a useful skill to have in the bush.
Michael prefers to take his guests on long visits to a particular park, than on shorter trips to various parks.
This allows him to show his guests the individual characteristics and behaviour of the animals. His familiarity
with all the beautiful and remote campsites is another advantage.
Michael prefers safaris in Selous, one of the most remote parks in the eastern part of Africa. The spotted
hyena is his favourite animal. 'A combination of all the beauty and roughness of Africa can be found in the
Hyena,' says Michael
